"Prof. Comín is one of those rare supervisors — a humanist who invests in the person, not just the research. Through four years of challenges, including the COVID pandemic, he remained consistently available, patient, and genuinely engaged. He always asked how you were doing before asking how the research was going. He never made you feel like a pair of hands serving his agenda, but like a young scientist whose development actually mattered to him. His scientific depth is exceptional, but what sets him apart is that he carries it with humility. He admits uncertainty, encourages debate, and creates space for you to be wrong and learn without shame. I came into this PhD with a research idea and a lot of uncertainty. I left as a scientist. That transformation belongs in large part to him."
